To undertake and promote activities for the empowerment and welfare of socially, economically and educationally marginalized, deprived, disadvantaged and weaker sections of the society like, for example, minority communities, women, girl children, orphans, scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, other backward classes, traditional artisans, people engaged in other traditional occupations and community services, the handicapped, the sick people, the aged people, the victims of natural disasters like, for example, floods, droughts, earthquakes, serious epidemics and other situations where emergency voluntary intervention would be required;
To undertake and promote health care and protection among the marginalized, disadvantaged and weaker sections of people like, for example, women, girl children, orphans, scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, other backward classes, minorities, traditional artisans, people engaged in other traditional occupations and community services, the handicapped, the sick people, the aged people. Towards this objective, to establish, to take over and/or promote in establishment and taking over of hospitals, dispensaries, health care centers and other academic and scientific institutions necessary for promoting the health of the citizens in general and the weaker sections of people in particular;
To undertake, impart and promote educational activities by different means such as establishing schools, colleges, universities, including medical, engineering and other professional colleges; study centres, coaching and training centers in pursuance of protection and promotion of healthy environment and development and promotion of skills, goods and services required for sustaining a healthy environment and protection of good health of the different classes/sections of people;
To organize campaigns, organize workshops, seminars, conferences to generate informed knowledge and opinion among the public in general and academic, scientific, administrative and political classes/communities specifically in order to influence policy decisions by the Government and Governmental organizations for the protection and promotion of healthy environment in all spheres of governmental and public activities including in infrastructural development, imports and exports, housing, transport, industrial policy etc;
To disseminate information and knowledge on the issues of healthy environment, general health of the people, and on issues of empowerment of the marginalized, disadvantaged and weaker sections of the people by way of preparation, distribution of informative books, booklets, pamphlets, journals, audio and video educational and propaganda materials.
